Manufacturing Facilities

Introduction

  • Multicolor Steels India Pvt. Ltd. is a RDSO approved company. We are approved for the fabrication of Composite and other steel plate Girder Part-B.
  • We comply and we are approved by RDSO according to their latest STR (BS-S-7.5.3.1-4), fulfilling all prerequisites and compliances.
  • We have own fabrication unit at HSIIDC, Industrial Area Bawal, Rewari, Haryana. It is situated on the Delhi Jaipur National Highway, 80 KM from Delhi.
  • We have in house dedicated designing team who are experts in fabrication drawing, assembling drawing and preparation of BOM.

Infrastructure

  • We are fully equipped with all the machinery and infrastructure required as per RDSO standard for manufacturing as per customer requirement.
  • We have inspection team at all required stages to maintain highest accuracy.
  • We have fully equipped laboratory for mechanical testing of material during inspections.
  • We have 06 Production Engineers, 06 Supervisors and 41 Qualified, trained and skilled Fabrication Team. Total manpower of more consist of more than 53 people to complete the work well in time.

Girder Manufacturing Process and Inspection

  • We follow standard process as per RDSO standard for manufacturing and inspection of Girders, ensuring quality and accuracy.
  • Developing Fabrication Drawings, Quality Assurance Plan and welding procedure data sheet as per GA Drawing and their approval.
  • Layout of Girders for physical verification of drawings.
  • Fabrication drawings are developed by our design teams based on the General Arrangement Drawing of the Girders.
  • Our Quality Team prepares Quality Assurance Plan and welding process data sheet.
  • All these documents are submitted to competent authority for approvals and after approval, fabrication is carried out at our workshop.

Development of Fabrication Drawings, QAP and Welding procedures

  • Fabrication drawings are developed by our design teams based on the (GA) General Arrangement Drawing of the Girders.
  • Our Quality Team prepares Quality Assurance Plan and Welding process data sheet.
  • All these documents are submitted to competent authority for approvals and after approval, fabrication is being carried out our workshop.

Cutting of Plates

  • After inspection of raw materials, cutting of all plates used in fabrication of Girder components is carried out with the help of CNC Plasma cutting machine and CNC Gas cutting machine.
  • It is ensured that plates are cut dimensionally and are not cut undersize.

Drilling

  • We have 03 CNC Drilling Machines and 02 Radial Drill Machines.
  • All drilling is generally done by CNC Drilling Machine and Radial Drill Machine on all structural members.

Welding

  • After cutting of all plates, fitting of all Girder components is done on fixture with proper lines and level.
  • Final welding is done by SAW/MIG as per approved fabrication drawing. Hole drilling on these components is done after final welding.
  • We use SAW/MIG wire & flux from the RDSO approved vendors. We have specially designed fixtures for SAW to ensure accuracy and speed.

Straightening

  • After finishing welding and drilling work, Girder is straightened on straightening machine.

End Milling

  • After straightening, both end faces of the Girder are taken on End Milling Machine to create flat, perpendicular and precise surfaces on the ends of workpieces, structural steel components like H-beams, girders and columns.
  • It enables high-efficiency levelling, cutting and chamfering to set accurate reference datums for further fabrication in steel construction and heavy engineering like bridge construction.

Blasting Shop

Shot blasting is essential to clean, strengthen and prepare metal or surfaces by, removing contaminants like rust, scale and old paint.

It is used to achieve a precise surface profile that improves paint adhesion, while also increasing material durability through surface hardening and removing defects.

We have Shot Blasting Machine, suitable for heavy Girder and related steel structures.

Metalizing and Painting Shop

  • Before dispatch, painting, sandblasting and metalizing is done on Girder components as per Bridge code (IRS B1:2001).
  • Spray painting is done at our paint shop to give best quality and long life.
  • We use Iron Grit for blasting to give desired roughness to the surface before painting and metalizing. We have separate paint and sand blasting shop for both the units to match the production.
  • We also use Epoxy and International Paints if desired by the client.

Assembly Area

  • Trial assembly of Girder is done at shop after inspection with the help of bolts and drifts.
  • For multiple Girder of same drawings, trial assembly of 1st span is sufficient to check the correctness of fabrication and jigs/templates.
  • Proper camber as per drawing is given at all joints with the help of camber jacks for the final testing of camber.
  • After inspection of camber, the Girder is dismantled and stacked for painting/metalizing as per requirement.
  • We have overhead cranes of 5 MT, 10 MT and 20 MT capacity for assembly of Girders, which reduces time and increases production capacity.

Stacking Area

  • Stacking area is a dedicated zone for temporary storage of finished Girders.
  • We have sufficient stacking area to stack finished Girder, which is ready to be transported to the site and erected.
  • Stacking area is in precast concrete or heavy steel fabrication yards to avoid dirt and dust.
